for Tracey

For Tracey
is about the paradoxes of everyday life; relationships between people that are brutally disrupted. Seemingly sweet, but with dark psychological undertones.

The film is based on scenes from the performance Disordery Conduct and a collaboration between T.r.a.s.h. and filmmakers Martin Kers (MMXI ) and Erik-Jan Maalderink (VOXL), former LADDS members.

During the Cinedans Festival 2011 For Tracey won the award in the category 'Camera Rework'.

Quote from the jury:
"This film astounded us by its brave portrayal of the unpleasant aspects of relationships, the freshness of the on-screen talent and its punk sensibilities." Cinedans Festival 2011

Agnes und Ekel
In between sunken ships four performers are waiting for their crossing. Intrigues and manipulations are happening on a daily basis. Only the own perception is measure. Old, conservative values are under pressure; affective closeness is opposed to clinic distance.

T.r.a.s.h. is renowned for its uncompromising dance performances, constantly seeking the boundaries with amazing dedication. At a crossroads of artistic disciplines – a combination of dance, performance and (live) music - for the past ten years the company has been challenging the traditional norms of theatre and dance.

In strongly styled images this dance theatre performance puts down reality as a subjective construction. In colorfull and spherical spaces the performers act out contrasting actions on each other: actions of oppression and depression, cruelty and show of force.

Irina

True stories merge with an illusionary world, in which women can take on every kind of identity to survive. The spectator observes them closely.

Irina is a collaboration between T.r.a.s.h. and filmmakers Martin Kers (MMXI) & Erik-Jan Maalderink (VOXL).

Première NL | Saturday 2 March | CINEDANS 2013 | EYE Film Institute | Amsterdam.

PRESS

Swamp
In a threatening marshland four dancers roam around like roadside tourists.
Already sinking they mock seriously with society. In both innocent and cruel games they search for togetherness. They sway each other back and forth, build and demolish sandcastles. With a series of self-made rituals they shake off the confusion and mud and go looking for love.

...Will we make it together or will each of us go down alone?

We must be willing to let go
Emptiness, adrenalin, humour, ridicule and clichés in an energetic, explosive, almost cartoonish dance duet. In We must be willing to let go the farewell of superfluous ballast and the tragedy of a seemingly forgotten femininity (in beauty and ugliness) is connected in a bizarre way. On the floor a hectic carnivalesque duo in a constant pulse, a continous flow of movement and music. A thirty-minute speed race, danced by two women, with minimalistic, repetitive live music, played by a violinist.

'We must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us.'
Joseph Campbell

Einbahnstrasse
Einbahnstrasse is a tragicomic dance theatre performance that portrays the intensity, the void but also the meaningful of everyday traffic among people. A one-way street where reverse and/or return from a certain point is not possible. A collection of absurd, disordered, physically and emotionally charged scenes: (fictitious) rituals, actions of violence and inevitability of choices. Five dancers carry out their extreme physical actions, a ccompanied by a live score played by three musicians.

Safe Absence

In Safe Absence five seductive women personify the themes of longing, sin and penance.
